Lady Hale has been appointed Deputy President of the UK Supreme Court. She is the first woman to hold this position. Lady Hale was the first and so far only woman to be appointed to the UK Supreme Court (then the House of Lords). The EJI warmly congratulates Lady Hale on her appointment, and hopes that it will not be too long before she is joined by other women on our highest court.
